Still working with inequalities. No homework tonight. Happy Halloween
Complete the rest of the Farmer Jones side of the practice page. BE SURE TO USE YOUR NEW RULE for solving inequalities when multiplying or dividing by a negative number. (So if you already did the rest of the problems - you must go back and apply the new rule to the problems that involve multiplying and dividing with negative numbers!
Please try #'s 1-5, 8, 9, and 12 - 14 from the "Farmer Jones" side of the practice sheet from yesterday. (Kangaroo is on the back.) Treat these inequalities like one step equations.
Please complete the "Kangaroo" side of the practice sheet from the Take One bin.
Because so many students never completed the Unit II test, we are now taking class time for students to review and complete the test, as well as the other students to review and do test corrections. No homework tonight. Test corrections will be completed tomorrow, and we will begin inequalities.
Work on the review page this weekend in preparation of the UNIT 3 test on Monday. Most of the answers are on the football player coloring page. The answers to number 17 and 18 are -5 5/7 and 2/5. You may want to use Ten Marks to review topics as well. Unit 3 includes one and two step equations, writing expressions from words, and word problems.
Because of our field trip this week, and short classes on Friday (there is an assembly), we will have the Unit 3 test on Monday. Students will be given a review sheet on Friday. Ten Marks is always available for students to go in and work on a topic that they need to practice.
Use the distributive property and YOUR NOTEBOOK from class today to solve at least the first 10 problems on the page titled, "What were the headlines after a 3'10" fortuneteller escaped from jail?" This sheet is on the back of the Oshkosh problem set assigned last week. Remember the quiz on equations is tomorrow.
