Today in class students completed the Probability Test. Tomorrow we will begin to look at data analysis and what makes a good random sample.

Yesterday in class students learned more about independent and dependent probability events. Today we reviewed theoretical, experimental, independent and dependent probability events.
Answers to Pretest #1-12 1. 1/2 7. 26 - 5 = 21 so 21/26 2. 1/225 8. 5/6 3. 6/6 = 1 9. 2/52(1/4) = 2/208 = 1/104 4. 39/52 = 3/4 10. 10/28(6/27) = 60/756 = 5/63 5. Dependent, 16/2652 = 4/663 11. 13/52(12/52) = 156/2704 = 3/52 6. Independent, 1/2(4/6) = 4/12 = 1/3 12. 4/11(3/10) = 12/110 = 6/55 Today in class students worked to understand the probability of compound events - when one event is followed by another. Sorry folks, had back to back meetings this afternoon followed by a late appointment, and I left my copy of the class work at school so I cannot post the answers tonight. We will work together tomorrow to correct anything missed.
Today in class students completed the theoretical and experimental examples and moved into the area of compound events - a combination of events that occur, like rolling a die AND drawing a card from a stack.
Today in class students completed the probability notes page that includes theoretical and experimental probability. We began looking at ways to calculate the probability of combinations of events happening.
Today in smart block students completed the percent test, and at regular class time we began a discussion and a page of notes about probability.
