Today in class students began a lovely 'stained glass window' geometry project. It has a holiday feel to it, but is part of the curriculum coming up in the spring. Yes, it will be for a grade - the 'window' will be checked and the half sheet of definitions/measurements will be turned in tomorrow.

Today in class students began the next unit - which is Probability. There is a sheet for notes from class today.
A quick look at the Unit 5 Test average for the 7+ class showed about a 66% for our class. Concerned about whether this test was a good evaluation of what we know, I gave a quick review of the unit at the board and gave another assessment that I felt is a more direct approach to the subject. We will see how this one looks. I will have to at least combine the slope problems from the first test with this one if I replace the original twenty problems.
Today in class students completed the Unit 5 Proportions and Slope test.
Today in class students continued the Unit 5 Slope and Proportion test.
Today in class students reviewed Proportions and Slope before beginning the Unit 5 test.
Today in class students learned about using scale factors to compare similar figures that represent life size objects or spaces. Test tomorrow after a little review.

(We have been learning about the slope intercept form of equations, graphing equations, triangles and slope, and plotting ratios.)
Today in class students got a start on the weekly homework and then completed the graphs vs. equations sheet. It took a surprisingly long time. I am hoping we complete this unit and test early next week.
Today in class students reviewed the Similar Figures and Slope quiz we took before track out as a way of warming back up to the topic at hand.
Most students have completed the Graphs vs. Equations page we began before track out. |
