Today in class students worked together on tasks to learn about plant and animal cells. There is a nice website/app called icell that is useful for the diagrams most students worked with today.

Today in class students continued to build their vocabulary and write notes about plant and animal cells.
Today in class students completed the Protist Test. When finished, they began to read and take notes about plant and animal cells which is part two of our unit about cells.
Today in class students reviewed the correct answers to yesterday's quiz, and got another work day with their groups to learn a bit more about protists in preparation for the upcoming test.
Today in class students took the microscope/protist quiz, looked at samples of local creek and pond water, and had their spring pictures taken. They were looking good!
Today in class students reviewed what they need to know about protists for the quiz tomorrow, and looked at some prepared and stained slides of the 4 protists we are studying. We also had a pond water sample brought in and got to see a few live critters swimming around. Major coolness points!
Today in class students learned the parts of the microscope, how to use one, and completed the Letter e lab.
Today in class students completed and discussed asexual vs sexual reproduction of organisms. Groups met together to compare the 2 tasks completed independently during the snow days, and to begin another assignment.
