Today in class students turned in their physics project and took the Motion Test.

Today in class students completed their class work time on forces, motion, and energy. No new objective questions today. 8th period also had a final few minutes access to the green screen for video taping part of their project which is due tomorrow.
While conduction and convection and all those types of thermal terms will not be on this test, it's still a good review.
code: 217141 Today in class students switched around 3rd and 8th period again so that any groups in 3rd period that needed to do any last minute video recording would have an opportunity to do so in room 214. Everyone else worked on the following questions: How is energy transferred between systems? (thermal, electrical, mechanical...) How does energy create a push or pull? What is an electric circuit? Does energy cycle (like the water cycle) or is it a one way process? Is energy conserved, or does it get used up?
In class today students worked during 3rd period on understanding energy transformations. In 8th period, students worked to complete their physics project and had access to the green screen in room 214 if they wanted it.
In class today students in 3rd period had access to the green screen for filming videos and worked on their physics project. 8th period students worked on understanding the various forms of energy and the transformation from one form to another.
In class today students worked on a new set of questions: What is energy? What is work? What is power? What are the forms of energy? What are examples of each? We had a class discussion about the forms of potential energy, that potential and kinetic energies frequently replace each other in a system, and how the combination of potential and kinetic energies equals mechanical energy. There are more handouts and weebly resources today.
In class today students took the Interpreting Data Motion quiz (all the answers are on the quiz in the graph just waiting to be read). We also completed Forces test corrections in 3rd period (8th period will complete these tomorrow). Finally we took some class time to work on the most amazing physics projects ever!
Today in class students worked on understanding what kinetic, mechanical, and potential energy are. Questions and/or Objectives for today: What are the 3 types of potential energy? Re-write the vocabulary definitions in your own words. Gives examples of each vocabulary term, and add pictures to your vocabulary pages.
REMEMBER: Interpreting data quiz tomorrow - all answers are on the quiz itself so take your time and find all the information you need. In class today students began to explore kinetic, potential, and mechanical energy. Our new vocabulary list includes: kinetic energy, potential energy, mechanical energy, thermal energy transfer, mechanical energy transfer, electrical energy transfer, and electromagnetic energy transfer.
