This week in science we are completing Air Masses and Fronts with a test tomorrow.
We will work on our Severe Weather Project in class, and begin to learn about wind patterns before we track out.
This week in math we will begin Unit 7 Angles, Triangles, and Prisms. There is homework every night in the workbook labeled Practice Problems.
This week in class we will reflect on how we can improve in math using strategies to work well in class and complete homework, and by setting goals that are specific and can be realized.

The Air Masses and Fronts test will be next Wednesday, not Monday. Students need a little more time to prepare and study, but Tuesday classes will be too short because of the 2 hour delay.
ALL - the United Skates field trip has been moved from Tuesday, November 6 to Friday, December 14. This field trip will not impact student arrival or dismissal time to/from school. Please make the change in your agenda.
Parents of AIG math students/ any math student interested in participating - Mrs. Austin is conducting a special math project this week during Smart Block. Please encourage your student to attend!

Today students also received a Severe Weather Project rubric. The project can be turned in for a test grade in 2 weeks (11/09) before track out, OR the day we track back in (12/06). No late projects will be accepted.

West Lake Middle School is looking for parents to help support students with group tutoring sessions! We will have an information session on Nov. 1 at 7:00 PM in the Media Center for any parents who are interested. We will go over what the program will look like, discuss how we will train you on different topics, verify that everyone is a cleared WCPSS volunteer and create a schedule that meets your needs! Read and fill in reader's notes for ch 9 and 10. Complete your five sticky notes for character, plot, and setting.
Finish up the separation of states worksheet.
All classes must have all reader's notes for chapter 1-8 completed tomorrow. Additionally there is a Flocabulalry assignment and a Readworks assignment, which are due Friday.
Check power school. There are assignments that you may have not turned in.
Homework this week will be to complete daily classwork on the ck12.org assignment.
We will have a test Friday on the water cycle (including how energy moves the water), cloud formations, and forms of precipitation.
