Today in class students reviewed absolute value as the distance from zero, AND found that a minus sign in front of the absolute value sign means "the opposite of". We used physical colorful chips to demonstrate that integers are whole numbers that can be positive or negative, and that an additive inverse is when you add opposite numbers so that they equal zero. E.g. - 3 + 3 = 0
