Today in class students reviewed the information reported on an hourly basis from weather stations, and organised some of the information in weather symbol form. Students had a chance to choose any city around the world and look up the weather there to create a weather symbol for a station report.

Today in class students learned about weather station symbols and their importance in communicating weather conditions from other places.
Today in class students worked on understanding how we use all the things we have learned about the atmosphere and weather to predict future weather events.
Today in class students took the Interpreting Weather Data quiz. Most went on to work on another choice from the papers on the counter or the google classroom. There's yet another new choice board.
Today in class students collaborated on their activity of choice about predicting the weather. Choice boards are in the google classrooms.
Today in class students began their research into how the weather is predicted by reading and taking notes from Chapter 4 section 3.
Today in class students reviewed humidity in cold air, the jet stream, convection currents (like in Hadley cells), the Coriolis effect, as well as forms of precipitation and the conditions under which they form.
Students today continued choosing activities to help them learn about wind. By now most have completed Chapter 3 section 3 notes and illustrations, a flow chart (or notes) about Doppler Radar, reviewing a short power point, and a foldable activity about global winds (hadley cells and latitude lines).
Today in class students discussed how wind plays a role in the weather, pressure systems, forest fires/volcanic eruptions, global issues, and breathable air. We completed our notes (hopefully) and moved on to work on items from the choice board on the google classroom.
Today in class students worked to create Cornell notes about Wind from our text book. We are reading aloud in our groups, and including several figures from the text (6, 7, 9, 12), as well as adding color.
